Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge

We’ve had folk run the Bath Half and the London Marathon this year, but a 100km non stop hike as part of the Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge on 23/24 June is a first for the Life Project (Bath).

Matt and a group of 4 friends chose to support the Life Project as they embark on this extreme challenge!

The training has ramped up, at the beginning of May 2 of the team did 65km practice hike and it very warm and hilly. They went on to do 70km the following Sunday and despite all the rain we’ve had this year it was another warm day. The team have battled, wind, rain, snow, and sun! Ticks have had to be pulled from legs, and they even had a 20min stand off with swans protecting their young which attacked another runner trying to get by.

Alarms at 4:30am have been ringing over recent weekends to get 65km distances in and still try and have some sort of Saturday evening whilst nursing the blisters.

Matt is aiming to raise at least £500 which may also be matched!
As the big day approaches it is  healthy living, short walks (40km, 65km, 75km) and the treadmill to prepare and hope not to get injured.
