Come join us!
Every week, adults with learning disabilities across Bath find friendship, purpose and community through The Life Project.
None of this happens without people who give their time, skills, resources and support.
Ways to get involved…
Allotment
Do you enjoy being outdoors and helping to keep things looking their best? We’re looking for volunteers to help care for our allotment and garden spaces.
You don’t need to be an experienced gardener. There are all sorts of jobs to be done, from weeding, watering and tidying pathways to helping prepare the allotment for our Maker sessions. Whether you can spare half an hour occasionally or a few hours on a regular basis, your support would make a real difference.
Some volunteers enjoy working alongside our Makers during sessions, while others prefer helping behind the scenes to make sure the space is ready and welcoming for everyone.
If you’d like to find out more, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch and we’ll be happy to chat through what’s involved and help you find a role that suits you.

Transport Chaperone
We partner with Bath Community Transport to help our Makers get to and from Day service sessions safely, and we’re looking for friendly volunteers to travel alongside them as transport chaperones.
As a chaperone, you’ll help create a welcoming and supportive journey for our Makers, offering company, conversation and reassurance on the way to and from sessions. It’s a simple but important role that helps people access the opportunities, friendships and community that Life Project provides.
Our sessions take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with transport running in the morning before sessions and again in the afternoon afterwards. Whether you can help regularly or just on one day a week, we’d love to hear from you.
No driving is required, and we’ll provide all the information and support you need to feel confident in the role.
If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch. We’d be delighted to chat through what’s involved and answer any questions you may have.
The Life Project is by far the most worthy charity I have ever had the joy of volunteering with. Each maker is treated as an individual. Focus is on their ability not disability. Staff and volunteers alike strive to unearth our makers’ incredible potential. To Encourage, Empower and Enable is a guiding principle. The Life Project celebrates diversity and welcomes the fact that each and every one of us is ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’, created in God’s image.
