Lounge Aid

Every now again we receive emails or messages out of the blue that take us by surprise and cause us to smile.

We received one such email from Velo Lounge, a local café/bar in Moorland Road, Bath saying that they have decided that they are going to support The Life Project (Bath) throughout the month of June (and possibly beyond) as part of Lounge Aid – The Lounges annual fundraising initiative.

If the initial message wasn’t exciting enough as we have discussed plans there is now a whole host of events and activities planned throughout June including a Raffle, Jewellery Making Workshops, Charity Walk, Quiz Night, Live Music, Face Painting and more taking place at the Velo Lounge.

Velo Lounge staff are also planning to volunteer with us – there are plenty of brambles and other weeds that need clearing at the allotment – and we’re not sure if they realise what they have let themselves in for.

And, if that this wasn’t enough, Velo Lounge are planning a social for our Makers, Members and Parent Carers to enjoy learning to make Mocktails and Cocktails at Velo Lounge.

Beyond June we have already discussed how we might continue to work together… watch this space for potential gardening group, further quiz nights and other events through the year!
